New Opportunities in the Second Half of 2024 

According to the statistics of Shenzhen Customs shows, in the first half of 2024, the import and export volume of Shenzhen was 2.2 trillion, an increase of 31.7%. A new high in the history in the same period, ranking first in the mainland foreign trade cities in 2024, accounting for 10.4% of the country and 50.4% of the province.

In the first half of the year, Shenzhen's foreign trade exceeded expectations, which in addition to the recovery of external demand, especially the replenishment effect of developed economies such as the United States, promoted the further growth of Shenzhen's exports.


On the other hand, private enterprises are the drivers of Shenzhen's foreign trade, a data shows that the number of private enterprises with import and export performance in Shenzhen exceeds 36,000, accounting for more than 80% of the total. The export area is mainly dominated by ASEAN, Hong Kong area and the United States, especially in the countries jointly building the "Belt and Road", the import and export growth of more than 40%, which means that the pattern of Shenzhen's foreign trade has a new change.


Some studies believed that the world economy is recovering tenderly, there is still a great risk in this year, when we keep facing of the traditional markets such as Europe, the United States, Hongkong Area, but also can pay more attention to the “Belt and Road” and get a new trade direction.


There is a relevant business experts said in the second half of 2024, the growth trend of Shenzhen’s foreign trade will keep continued due to the external demand last until the end of this year. Therefore, both the traditional light industry export and the technical manufacturing industry still are the opportunities to us.
